Fish Oil Health Benefits Free Essays
Fish oil health benefits are exaggerated, says a new study appearing in the Canadian Medical Association Journal. And yet, it warns, increased consumer demand for fish oil is pushing fish populations to the brink. Medical scientists from St. We will write a custom essay sample on Fish Oil Health Benefits or any similar topic only for you Order Now Michaelââ¬â¢s Hospital and the University of Toronto have teamed with researchers from the University of British Columbiaââ¬â¢s Fisheries Centre and author Farley Mowat to closely examine the effects of health claims with regard to seafood. For years, international agencies concerned with health and nutrition have promoted seafood consumption. ââ¬Å"Our concern is that fish stocks are under extreme pressure globally and that studies are still urgently required to define precisely who will benefit from fish oil,â⬠says Dr. David J. A. Jenkins, a doctor at St. Michaelââ¬â¢s Hospital and a professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicineââ¬â¢s Department of Nutritional Sciences. Further, if we decide that fish oil supplementation is necessary for good health, then unicellular sources of ââ¬Ëfish oilââ¬â¢ like algae, yeasts, etc, should now be used, as they are in infant formula,â⬠adds Dr. Jenkins. While some studies have reported fish oil health benefits healthy benefits, others have failed to show a significant effect. But these negative studies are often ignored and the result has been increased demand for seafood by consumers in the developed world, often at the expense of food security in developing nations. Governments and industry tell consumers to eat more fish because it is healthy,â⬠explains Rashid Sumaila, director of the Fisheries Economics Research Unit at UBC Fisheries Centre and study co-author. ââ¬Å"But where do we get these fish? They are increasingly coming from the waters around Africa and other places where food security is a problem. â⬠At best, fish oils are just one factor out of many that may reduce ailments such as heart disease and researchers found that people who do not eat fish, such as vegetarians, are not at increased risk of illness. Furthermore, dietary recommendations to consume more fish are incompatible with the sustainability of ocean ecosystems, according to a concurrent study recently published in the International Journal of Epidemiology. ââ¬Å"For people in Canada or the US, or in the EU, eating fish is one of many possible options, both in terms of a tasty meal, and in terms of a balanced diet,â⬠says UBC fisheries researcher Daniel Pauly. ââ¬Å"For many people in developing countries, fish is often their only source of protein. It would be irresponsible for us to ââ¬Ëtriageââ¬â¢ food sources without verifying that fish oil indeed promotes human health. â⬠Farley Mowat, co-author on this study, adds: ââ¬Å"In the immediate future, human beings are going to have to find better ways to live. Our rape and pillage of the environment has to end before it becomes our end. The damage we have already done to life in the oceans is a prime example of our idiocy, and a last warning that we had better change our ways. ââ¬Å" How to cite Fish Oil Health Benefits, Essay examples
A Memo Requesting a Workshop on Writing Skills Essay Example For Students
A Memo Requesting a Workshop on Writing Skills Essay As you are well aware by now there was a memo circulated recently that was a very poor reflection on our company. Unfortunately the memo was seen by a client and those on the sales force has been suffering from very low morale. Im requesting your support in starting a workshop on improving individual writing skills. At this point in time I dont think that there is a more important project. It is extremely clear that we need to help our coworkers learn how to communicate more effectively. As unfair as it may seem, we are judged by the way we communicate, the words that we use, and the way we use them. I plan on breaking the workshop into three main categories; Content in Context, Back to Basics, and Making the Most of Your Tools. These categories will be able to give each person a very strong foundation in written communication. Theyll be able to walk out of the program and feel very confident with their newly honed writing skills. With that renewed sense of confidence morale through out the company will once again be at an all time high. Additionally, this will have a drastic impact with our clients and partners. Upon completion of the course these collaborators will notice a drastic difference in they way we are communicating. Theyll feel more comfortable working with us just knowing that we, as a company, care enough about ourselves to correct our own short comings. Not to mention that we are an organization that is willing to go the extra step for personal growth. Content in Context:Simply put, know what you are talking about! Its not enough to know what a couple of buzzwords. You need to understand what they mean and why those buzz words are creating a stir in the marketplace. When you care enough to educate yourself it projects outward. People will see that you are the type of person that will go the extra step to make sure you are in the know. If it takes a little time to research your topic before writing about it, than do it. Its worth it in the end. Nothing sounds more foolish then someone writing about a topic that they dont understand. It will come across in your writing. Know your audience. This is a major first step in the writing process. You will write very differently for the CEO then you would for the guys in the IT department. The type of audience will dictate if the tone, the type of information, and the way its presented, not to mention the terminology. It has an affect on all aspects of your memo. Once you know the audience t he tone will start to present itself. Make sure you are using the proper terminology. As I stated earlier, its not enough just to pick up a couple of buzz words out of a trade magazine. When you are talking to someone that lives and breaths their work, theyll know very quickly if you really understand what you are talking about. Many times small departments use their own taxonomy in dealing with a certain projects. Take the time to talk to those departments and find out why they are referring to those items in that manner. It will go a long way in gaining respect from your peers. Plus it could very well impress those potential clients when they see how effectively the company communicates. Lastly, keep it simple. Unfortunately people dont like reading when they dont have to. Stick to the topic at hand. When you know the subject at hand quality beats out quantity. Short, sweet and to the point never meant as much as it does today. Back to the Basics:Punctuation; make sure you know what you are doing. Believe it or not, there are actually rules to punctuation. The correct punctuation will help set the appropriate tone. Not to mention that it will help you from looking like a fool. I know it has been a long time since we actually had a class on punctuation, so this should be a welcomed refresher. Here are just some of the rules; Rule: Use an apostrophe and an -s to form the plural of anabbreviation that contains periods. .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8 , .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8 .postImageUrl , .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8 , .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8:hover , .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8:visited , .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8:active { border:0!important; } .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8:active , .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8 .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u292197dd960eba5c0a2ff0533250e5f8:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Market Opportunity Analysis Essay ThesisExample: R.N.s who wish to further their education will like ourevening program. Rule: Use a semicolon to show a close relationship between two complete statements when a period would be too much of an interruption. Example: We should go shopping today; Macys has a sale. Rule: Underline or place in italics the titles of movies, videos, plays, television and radio programs, operas, long poems, long musical works, works of art, and published speeches. Example: Saving Private Ryan was a popular 1998 movie. We all know how to write in complete sentences, yet we all fail to do it consistently. We have fallen complacent in reducing ourselves to accepting emailese. The following is the description of a sentence as taken from University of Phoenixs Whats The Rule database:A complete sentence contains a subject and a verb and can stand alone. The subject names something and consists of one or more nouns or pronouns. The verb expresses action or a state of being. A sentence fragment lacks a subject or a verb. Sentence fragments are sometimes used in informal writing (what now?) (what a chore!), but they are unacceptable in business and academic writing.Unfortunately, today this is easier said than done. We need to get back to the basics and start writing complete sentences. Using good grammar is where most of us fall short. We know good grammar when we see it, but yet we have trouble putting it in place. Whether its confusing words, forming improper conjunctions, or misusing and adverb, we just dont seem to get it right. Below are a couple of many rules of grammar that well get back in touch with in the workshop:Rule: Use an adjective after a linking verb such as seem, appear, become, grow, remain, stay, prove, feel, look, smell, sound, and taste. DO NOT use an adjective after an action verb; use an adverb instead. Example: I feel bad about all the trouble I caused. Rule: Use either/or and as/as for positive statements; use neither/nor and so/as for negative statements. Example: The movie was not so good as others I have seen this year. Proper formatting is essential. Your paper should always be formatted to suite the tone and purpose your writing. Dont outline just to avoid having to write complete sentences. Make the Most of Your Tools:Each day more tools are coming out to make our work much easier, (so they say). But no matter how you look at it, word editors of today make typewriters look archaic. Most teenagers today have probably never seen a typewriter up close. Im pretty sure they couldnt even explain why the keyboard is laid out like it is. To the matter at hand; our friends at Microsoft and Corel have packed more features in to our word editors than we realize are there. This workshop will teach our employees the benefits of tools such as Thesaurus, Hyphenation, and the all mighty Spellcheck. And yet well just have scratched the surface of whats available in these applications. If you know where to look the web you can find enough resources to make you dizzy. The web is teaming with dictionaries. From the traditional Oxford English Dictionary to the Collins Business Dictionary there are resources to suite what ever need you can dream up. But more importantly the workshop will teach you how and when to use them. Bring it Together:To close out the workshop well show the employees how to utilize all these tools in harmony to gain the maximum effort. It will help to illustrate how just taking more care in our writing, using the basics of grammar in conjunction with the tools available can make a world of difference in how we present ourselves and the company to the outside world through written communication.

The Locked Door free essay sample
It was a normal Friday evening, but Iââ¬â¢d had a strange feeling all day, a feeling that something was going to happen. Wandering alone down the empty streets of Lishwood, I saw a huge desolate building. Somehow it was attracking, but frightening as well. I was hesitating whether I go in or go home instead. But so curious I was that I entered the imposing building. Surprisingly its door was open. I felt amazed by staring at the richly decorated hall, although it seemed to have been abandoned for many years, I couldnââ¬â¢t imagine why. In the hall I found two doors; I opened the left door and entered a little room. Probably it was a girlââ¬â¢s room because there was a trestle-table with mirror in it. The room reminded me to earlier times as the furnitures were antique. I liked it very much, I could imagine myself living there. I looked round in every room, opened every door, but there was a door that I couldnââ¬â¢t open. It was locked. I felt disappointed in front of it. That was the only door in the huge building that was locked, and I wanted to open it. I searched for the key but I couldnââ¬â¢t find anything in that room, so I started to scan the whole house. Hardly had the clock struck midnight when I finally found the key. But suddenly I heard a strange noise and I was terrified. I didnââ¬â¢t know what to do. Iââ¬â¢m just a curious young girl and at that moment I cursed myself because of my curiosity. I hid under the bed of the largest room and was waiting in silence. After a while I couldnââ¬â¢t hear the man anymore, the feelings of shock and fear began to subside. I crawled out from under the bed and was about to leave the building, but I saw the key on the floor that I dropped when I tried to hide. My curiosity came back so I walked to the door to open it. I put the key into the lock and turned it away. I opened the door, not prepared at all for what I was about to experience there. And then I woke up. I know why the caged bird sings by Maya Angelou and Ego Tripping by Nikki Giovanni Essays
I know why the caged bird sings by Maya Angelou and Ego Tripping by Nikki Giovanni Essays I know why the caged bird sings by Maya Angelou and Ego Tripping by Nikki Giovanni Paper I know why the caged bird sings by Maya Angelou and Ego Tripping by Nikki Giovanni Paper Essay Topic: I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings Literature Maya Angelou Poems Nikki Giovanni Poems I am going to compare two poems called I know why the caged bird sings By Maya Angelou and Ego Tripping By Nikki Giovanni. Both of these poems are about wanting to be free and what they went through their life, however each of the poems has its own perspective, I know why the caged bird sings is rather in a more negative mood because it is saying she wants to be free, Ego Tripping is more positive because she is saying how free she is and how good her life is. To start I will analyse I know why the caged bird sings By Maya Angelou. In the poem Maya Angelou is talking about black people being trapped and have no say, She betray them by bird trapped in a cage with no speech, The poem mentions Problems she faces throughout her life, and says its no different being free or not because she cant do anything. Caged Bird is a poem about freedom. The free bird symbolizes a person from the white society, and the caged bird symbolizes a person from the black society. In the first stanza, the free bird is described. leaps, floats, dares, claim are used to describe the free bird, which indicates how courageous, powerful and arrogant it is. The second stanza starts with a But, which immediately awakens negative feelings. The words used to describe the caged bird are stalks, clipped and tied, the bird is not able to do what it wants. Also, in the second stanza, unexpectedly the caged bird opens his throat to sing. This action is very ironic, as normally you sing when you are happy, and we expect the free bird to do that. However, the song doesnt have a happy tune. Its a desperate cry for freedom. Theres a description of the cage that the bird is in, bars of rage. It shows similarities to being in a prison. There are no descriptions of the caged birds own point of view, of things unknown but longed for still. He cant see, he doesnt know. The free bird almost takes things for granted, dips his wing in the orange suns rays. Nevertheless, the caged bird can appreciate them. In the third stanza, trill, hill and still, heard and bird do rhyme. Rhyme tries to create a pattern, a neatness. Perhaps like the cage that contains the bird that wants to break free. The birds Life is repentant, maybe thats why theres a rhyme. Another pattern in the poem is between the stanzas: free bird, caged bird, refrain about caged bird; free bird, caged bird, refrain about caged bird. The refrain along with the phrase caged bird repeated in the beginning of all the stanzas which are about the caged bird, are for emphasis. It gives a feeling of how desperate he is. In the fourth stanza, the lines start to get Longer. This may be Linked to having more space to move, and therefore freedom- as it talks about the free bird. In the 3rd and 4th Lines, lawn and own are par rhymes, and own is Like a faint echo of the sound. In the 5th stanza, the Longer Lines may be Linked with the possibility of the bird being free. The words used to describe both the free and the caged bird almost sound the same, but they are different. Perhaps it reflects the two birds that are different whilst the caged bird wants to be Like the free bird. In the last stanza the first couple of lines are saying how the black people wish for freedom and people far away know that they are wishing to be free. In the last line she writes for the cadged bird sings for freedom this is a catchy ending people the reader remembers that most, the audience get told that several times so it is constantly being thrown at them The themes in this poem are freedom, unfairness, slavery and isolation. It may be Linked with gender, individuals, adults Limiting the youth, racial inequality, someone in prison or social oppression. The second poem I am going to compare I know why the caged bird sings with is called Ego Tipping by Nikki Giovanni. The poem is about how a black woman comparing herself to the Gods. She is saying that no one is better than her and she controls everything. This is saying that if your black or white you should be as free and as equal as each other and that everyone on earth should have the same rights and opportunities. In the first stanza she is writing about where she was born and how she grew up, she says i was born in Congo this could mean was bought up in Congo and was born there, Also the first three lines all Start with I this is very repetitive, Nikki Giovanni does this to tell the reader and give them a strong impression on things about her, I walked to the Fertile Crescent and built the sphinx this is referring to the slaves that built the sphinx, and how she is classed the same as them, and still they can make good things. She says I am bad, this is short, blunt and effective. It gets the point across that not everyone likes her, and may have done something wrong before. I sat on the throne, drinking nectar with Allah this line is very Strong and meaningful, as she is classing herself high enough to drink nectar with a god, Nectar was a very expensive thing at the times when she wrote this poem so she is saying there is nothing she cannot have. I got hot and sent an ice age to Europe this line shows that she is powerful and can do anything she wants, but selfish, as sending an ice age to Europe would kill millions of people, She is referring that she is controlling the earth and natural disasters. The tears from my birth pains created the Nile, she is now saying she is big and important she creates all the landmarks too. The second short sentence in the poem is I am beautiful this sentence is straight to the point and it also shows that she is proud of herself and she thinks that she is a perfectionist, But however this can also means that she is ugly so she is trying to look better by saying she looks beautiful. In the next stanza she is talking about how she created parts of the earth like she says I gazed onto the forest and burned out the Sahara desert. the time that the poem was written in religions was a big part of peoples lives they believe in god and now Nikki Giovanni is saying she is every god. n stanza five she mentions My son Noah built an ark and I stood proudly at the helm this means that she has given birth to a man who saved the animals, She also says My bowels deliver uranium she is now boasting and saying that even her wastes everyone craves for and it is expensive. The last stanza Nikki Giovanni says I am so perfect so divine so surreal. I cannot be comprehended without my permission. I mean I can fly, like a bird in the sky she says this to tell the ready she is everywhere she is so perfect she cannot make mistakes. The two poems that I have analysed are both very similar in topic but they have different view points towards it, I know why the caged bird sings is more sad and depressing, whereas Ego Tripping is more happy and joyful. The first poem shows how black people get treated badly and being discriminated and then the whites gets all the freedom. The second poem is opposite to the first one because she is saying she is god there is nothing she cant do and she is a African American, This shows is feels free and unlike before they had no freedom.

What Are Contractions (Warning Not a Guide to Pregnancy)
What Are Contractions (Warning Not a Guide to Pregnancy) What Are Contractions? If youââ¬â¢re heavily pregnant and noticing a tightness in your uterus at regular intervals, congratulations! Youââ¬â¢re probably about to go into labor. However, if youââ¬â¢re looking for advice on that issue, weââ¬â¢re afraid youââ¬â¢re in the wrong place. The ââ¬Å"contractionsâ⬠weââ¬â¢re interested in are words. But what are these contractions? And how can you avoid errors when using them in your writing? Read on below to find out! What Are Contractions? A contraction is an abbreviation formed by combining two words. For instance: Could not = Couldnââ¬â¢t I am = Iââ¬â¢m Where is = Whereââ¬â¢s As shown above, we use an apostrophe to indicate that letters have been dropped from the new word. All contractions are formed like this, so make sure not to miss the apostrophe out! When to Use Contractions Contractions are very common in speech. As a result, you can use them in writing if youââ¬â¢re aiming for an informal, friendly tone. Theyââ¬â¢re also very useful in fiction, especially dialogue. However, since contractions are informal, you should not use them in formal writing (e.g., college papers and technical writing). The one exception to this is ââ¬Å"oââ¬â¢clockâ⬠if youââ¬â¢re writing down a time in full (this is actually a contraction of ââ¬Å"of the clockâ⬠). What time of the clock is it? Watch Out for These Sneaky Words! Finally, weââ¬â¢ll end on a list of common contractions that are regularly misused or that could be confusing. Look out for these terms in your writing and make sure that youââ¬â¢ve got them right: Contraction What It Means Common Errors Itââ¬â¢s It is or it has Donââ¬â¢t confuse this term with the possessive determiner ââ¬Å"itsâ⬠(no apostrophe). Theyââ¬â¢re They are Not to be confused for the possessive determiner ââ¬Å"theirâ⬠or the adverb ââ¬Å"there.â⬠Weââ¬â¢re We are Not to be confused with the past tense verb ââ¬Å"wereâ⬠or the adverb ââ¬Å"where.â⬠Youââ¬â¢re You are Not to be confused with the possessive ââ¬Å"your.â⬠Canââ¬â¢t Cannot The full form of this term is written as a single word, so make sure not to write ââ¬Å"can notâ⬠in formal writing. Wonââ¬â¢t Will not This term is technically short for ââ¬Å"woll not,â⬠since ââ¬Å"wollâ⬠is an old-fashioned spelling of ââ¬Å"will.â⬠And although ââ¬Å"willâ⬠became standard for the positive form, the ââ¬Å"oâ⬠spelling became standard for the negative contraction. With these terms, if youââ¬â¢re not sure whether the contraction is correct, try using the expanded version in the sentence. For example, while ââ¬Å"weââ¬â¢reâ⬠and ââ¬Å"wereâ⬠look similar written down, there is an obvious difference between ââ¬Å"they were happyâ⬠(grammatical) and ââ¬Å"they we are happyâ⬠(ungrammatical).

Chinese History Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
Chinese History - Essay Example Chinese semi-colonialism was viewed as both a historical moment mainly specified in relation to European and more generally international capitalist political, economic, and cultural projects in the modern era and as a trope for domination, violation, and resistance. Dominance in semi-colonial China was doubly articulated. It stood, on the one hand, for imperialismââ¬â¢s power to limit the sovereignty of the Chinese state and, thereby, advance its own interests. On the other hand, it stood for the power exercised by the indigenous elite over the productive classes. Violation was inherent in both of these forms of dominance since they came to be articulated along similar ideological lines in early twentieth century. Another cause for violation was caused by lack of hegemony. The lack of hegemony is the most understandable and obvious in the case of imperialism, since its formal power was limited and partial. Indeed, the Chinese semicolonialism was treated as a political and concept which denoted a constellation of interventions, institutions, practices, and policies through which foreign imperialists had to establish beneficial positions and semiautonomous operations. They had no interest of ruling but to explore the country economically. The established positions ranged from aggression and equal treaties to spheres of influence and semicolonial agencies like the customs bureau. The result was something more than a mere advantageous position, especially in certain sectors of the economy. By the end of 1920, foreigners had taken control of 99 percent if Chinese iron ore, 76 percent of the coal, 92 percent of the railways, and 73 percent of the steam tonnage on the Yangzi. Despite the disintegrating effects of semicolonialism, it led to the rise of several objective conditions and created more room for developing its capitalist production. The destruction of the Chinese natural economy gave rise to commodity market for

Newtons Laws of Motion - Essay Example Several things are needed to be defined to understand this law. Firstly we talk about inertia. Inertia is an ability of matter to resist any change in its motion. For example when a person is sitting in a bus, he is moving with the same speed as that of bus. If brakes are applied suddenly by the bus driver, it is the inertia of a person's body that pulls him forward. The second thing that is important to understand is the concept of Net forces. A net force is the vector sum of all the forces being applied on a body. For example if two forces, each of 10 N, are applied on a body, one from the top and one from bottom then the body will not move in any direction. Since these forces will cancel out each other's effect and the net force on the body will be zero. Now if an object experiences any net force greater than zero it will change its state. A very common day example of this can be a car moving on an empty road. If you turn off the engine, the car will move to some distance and then stop. What is the reason behind this The car when moving is experiencing a force from its engine and some other forces such as friction from the road and air resistance. The car needs sufficient driving force from engine to counter the effects of air resistance and road friction. When the engine is turned off, the car will move because of the momentum it gathered due to its motion for some distance but a net force opposite to its direction of movement are being applied by road and air which will slow it down and will ultimately stop it. Same goes with a cold drink glass in a glass holder kept in a moving car. If a car is moving with the speed of 70 km/hr without any speed breaker and considering that the road is all smooth, the cold drink will not spill out of the glass but it will spill out in case of application of sudden brakes. The reason is simply that when the car was moving with a constant velocity, the drink in the glass was also moving with the same speed and in the same direction as that of car. But when brakes were applied suddenly and car stopped the drink still continued its motion which causes it to spill out of the glass because the force was applied to the wheel of the cars to stop them and not to the coffee. So, when no external force was applied to the drink it continued its motion till it spilled. In our everyday life we do many things that are good examples of First law of motion. Such as a carpenter or a wood worker: when he feels that the head of hammer has loosen its place from the wood of hammer, he hold the hammer from the middle and bangs its bottom on a hard surface to tighten it to its place. The phenomenon behind this is when he moves hammer at a fast speed downwards, every part of hammer is moving with it, but when the bottom hits the surface, still the head of hammer is moving with the same speed downwards and due to this it fixes itself on hammer.
